How coachmark.app works

Privacy

Videos and images are not uploaded to our servers. All media and saved Marks stay on the device and are only accessible to you. Shared, copied, or downloaded snapshots leave the device only when you choose those actions.

Load and Export

Load: Choose one or more local video or image files from this device.
Media tabs: Each loaded file opens in its own tab above the media area. Switch tabs to continue working on a different file.
Save: Save marks for the loaded media on this device.
Download: Save the current marked frame as a PNG.
Copy: Copy the current marked frame to the clipboard when the browser supports image copy.
Share: Open the device share sheet when supported by the browser.

Playback

Play: Start or pause video playback.
Timeline: Scrub through the video. Markers show frames with marks.
Speed: Review clips at 0.25x, 0.5x, 1x, 1.5x, or 2x speed.
Frame step: Move backward or forward by 1, 3, 5, or 10 frames.
Mute: Turn video audio on or off.
Minimise: Collapse the playback controls to just the minimise or maximise button and drag grip when you want more space.
Drag handle: Move the playback controls around the video.

Drawing Tools

Pen: Draw freehand marks on the current frame.
Line: Drag from the start point to the end point.
Arrow: Drag from the start point to the target point.
Circle: Drag to highlight a round area.
Box: Drag to frame a rectangular area.
Path: Place timed points across playback to show movement over time.
Text: Click the media, type a note, then click away to place it.
Timer: Click once to start a stopwatch mark and again to stop it.
Color swatches: Set the color for new marks.
Stroke: Set the line weight for new marks.
Undo: Remove the most recent mark.

Zoom

Zoom: Select a region to zoom into. On touch screens, use a two-finger pinch.
Reset: Return to the full media view.

Marks

Mark list: Review saved marks for the loaded media and jump to their timestamps.
Active tab: Tools, playback, zoom, and marks always apply to the media tab that is currently active.
Hide: Temporarily hide a mark without deleting it.
Delete: Remove a single mark or delete all marks for the current session.
Save: Save marks in this browser's local storage for the loaded file name.
Load: Restore locally saved marks for the current media when available.

FAQs

Does coachmark.app upload my videos or images?: No. Videos and images stay on your device. The app works with local media in your browser.
What can I use coachmark.app for?: You can mark up videos and images with coaching points, frame-by-frame feedback, drawing tools, text notes, arrows, shapes, timers, and snapshots.
Can I step through a video frame by frame?: Yes. After loading a video, use the frame controls to move backward or forward by 1, 3, 5, or 10 frames.
Can I load more than one file at a time?: Yes. You can load multiple videos or images and switch between them using the tabs above the media panel.
Can I save my marks?: Yes. Marks can be saved in your browser for the loaded media file. They are stored locally on your device.
Can I share feedback with someone else?: Yes. You can download, copy, or share a marked snapshot from the current frame.
Can I share a whole video?: At the moment, coachmark.app supports sharing single marked frames. If you would like to share a full marked-up video, let us know via Feedback.
Does it work with images as well as videos?: Yes. You can load either a video or an image and add coaching marks.
What media types are supported?: coachmark.app accepts local files your browser can open from video and image pickers. Common examples include MP4, WebM, Ogg, and MOV video files, plus JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP, SVG, and AVIF image files. Exact support depends on your browser and device.
How do I take a video or photo to mark up?: Use your device's camera app to capture the video or photo, then load it into coachmark.app. You can also load any supported media that is already on your device.
Do I need to create an account?: No. You can use the app without an account.
Is coachmark.app free?: Yes. You can mark up videos and images and share feedback snapshots for free.
Why do saved marks only appear on this device?: Saved marks use your browser's local storage, so they stay on the device and browser where they were created.
What sports or activities is this for?: It can be used for any coaching or review workflow where visual feedback helps, including sports technique, movement analysis, training clips, and image-based feedback.
